What you will study

Students in these disciplines will find it necessary to work confidently in multi-disciplinary teams throughout their careers. A foundation in Engineering, Computing and Technology is structured around projects working with others from different degree programmes, enabling them to begin to develop this extremely important transferable skill. Develop the knowledge and skills needed o create technologies and applications that will change the world. During the Foundation, students will have opportunities for practical work and experimentation across a range of elements, including engineering design tasks centered on developing simple robots, in order to introduce the challenges and benefits of realizing theoretical ideas. There’ll be lectures and seminars combined with work-based learning and plenty of course options to personalize your studies. Master the essential engineering skills to creatively and innovatively address the challenges faced by the civil engineer of the 21st century. From day one of studying the Civil Engineering BSc (Hons) degree course, students will be working on real built environment projects using maths and science to tackle engineering problems. They will become well equipped to shape a future built environment whether it involves design, construction and maintenance of bridges, buildings and transportation systems, planning flood defenses or developing infrastructure for sustainable energy generation.
