East Tennessee State University's (ETSU) College of Business and Technology's Department of Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Surveying strives to develop ethical, knowledgeable, articulate, and skilled professionals by providing them with the fundamental principles and emerging technological concepts to advance and excel in their future careers. The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology—Construction concentration is designed to prepare students with the professional skills needed for the complexities in today’s construction industry. Coursework in the major focuses on planning, design, construction, and management of infrastructures, including buildings, roads, highways, dams, bridges, and utilities. This program prepares students for employment in careers such as field engineers, inspectors, superintendents, resident project representatives, project engineers, project managers, sales representatives, estimators, schedulers, designers, and land developers. Students in this program will gain knowledge and experience in five major construction areas: • Management / Supervision • Accounting / Cost Control • Field Engineering • Design • Material Testing
The Bachelors of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET.
