International Stage Two in Computing - Transfer to Bachelor of Engineering - Cybersecurity and Forensics

The International Stage Two (IS2) is mapped against the standard second year of a four year bachelor’s degree which caters specifically for the needs of international students and, as such, is taught separately in the University’s International College. This bespoke programme provides an opportunity for them to take part in a year of study in a university environment following university undergraduate regulations before joining home and direct entry students on the third year of their chosen degree programme.

Students will enhance their English language capabilities, develop academic study skills appropriate to the United Kingdom Higher Education environment and acclimate to living and studying in another country and cultural context very different from their own. On the International Stage Two (IS2) they will study subject specific modules which map against the modules of the University’s standard second year in terms of subject content and learning outcomes. Alongside these subject modules they are supported in their studies by receiving tuition in English language and academic study skills. They are therefore able to join the other students on their degree programme in third year Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 9 with increased confidence in both language and study skills and subject knowledge.
