Program Description The Diploma of Health Sciences can gain students direct entry into second year of Deakin University bachelor degrees in Exercise and Sports Science, Health Sciences, Nutrition Science, Psychological Science, Public Health and Health Promotion, and Biomedical Science. This Diploma will give students a comprehensive understanding of the health of individuals, communities and populations, so that they are prepared to enter a wide variety of undergraduate courses.

Deakin's Bachelor of Nutrition Science enables students to develop an understanding of human nutrition and the impact it has on health. They learn how to tackle challenges facing society including disease prevention, lifespan nutrition, obesity, the spread of misinformation, and the social and physiological effects of food on our wellbeing.

Students can put theory into practice in Deakin's state-of-the-art food sensory labs. Designed just like those in industry settings, Deakin University's labs provide hands-on experience that prepares students for the workplace. On top of that, students will gain at least 75 hours of additional workplace training through industry placement. These experiences ensure students have the practical skills to improve health through food and nutrition – skills that are increasingly in demand as society grapples with nutrition-related diseases and their impact on wellbeing.
