What you will study
University Pathways Fast Track at RMIT UP is an accelerated pathway designed for high-achieving international students, preparing them for university in half the time of a Foundation Studies course. Delivered over one semester by RMIT UP (CRICOS provider number: 01912G), a fully owned entity of RMIT University, the program equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future academic success.
Located in the heart of Melbourne, RMIT UP’s specialist staff support students throughout their journey, while providing opportunities to build global and social networks that contribute to success at RMIT and beyond.

University Pathways Fast Track features focused, discipline-based streams, allowing students to align their studies with their interests and goals. University Diploma - Fashion Styling (C5442) (118551M) RMIT’s fashion styling diploma provides hands-on experience and industry-focused training, enabling students to respond to real and simulated briefs that reflect the dynamic nature of the fashion industry. Students develop skills across areas such as personal styling and image consultancy, editorial shoots, social media content, and styling for television and film, learning to create innovative and impactful styling solutions for individuals and businesses.
Delivered at RMIT’s renowned Centre for Fashion in Melbourne, the program places students in a leading creative environment with access to state-of-the-art studios and interactive learning spaces. Teaching is guided by industry professionals, offering insight into current practices and emerging trends.
Throughout the program, students build practical and professional capabilities, including working with body shape, colour theory and personality profiling; understanding fashion marketing, branding and consumer psychology; and developing the foundations for freelance business practice. They also gain experience in producing and directing fashion photoshoots, identifying global and local trends, and delivering styling for events from concept through to execution.
Additional skills are developed in photography, sewing and fashion technology, alongside proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud. The program also encourages exploration of sustainable practices through eco-styling and provides opportunities to build industry networks.
Graduates are prepared to pursue a range of career pathways, including freelance styling, working with fashion brands, or engaging more broadly with the fashion industry.
