3-Term Pathway - International Year One in Computer Science - Progress to Integrated Masters - Master of Engineering (MEng) (Honours) - Computer Science with Cyber Security (With a Year in Industry)

An International Year One combines degree preparation with content similar to the first year of an undergraduate degree. When you successfully pass the course, you’ll progress straight to the second year of your chosen degree.

This means you’ll save time and money, because you’ll still be able to graduate in the standard three years.

It’s also a great opportunity to earn a degree that’s really respected by employers — in fact, York is top 30 in the UK for graduate prospects (Complete University Guide 2025). That’s because the University of York consistently ranks within the UK’s top 20 universities, and is renowned worldwide for its excellent research and teaching.

During your International Year One course, you will have the chance to: • Improve your English • Develop your academic skills • Deepen your subject knowledge • Benefit from expert teaching by friendly tutors • Enjoy dedicated wellbeing support • Meet other students from around the world in an international environment
