Foundation Studies is delivered by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Training, a fully owned entity of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University. Foundation Studies provides students with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for their future academic success.

Certificate IV - Photography and Photo Imaging (C4373) (090434F): The Certificate IV in Photography and Photo Imaging is designed to equip students with a broad range of photo imaging skills including lighting, image capture, enhancements, manipulation and output. The objective of the program is to develop their skills and knowledge of photo imaging through practical and theoretical exploration in areas including:

• Colour theory • Design • Digital output and printing • Image capture • Lighting techniques

The program is skills based and industry focused and prepares students to work in studios or undertaking freelance or consultancy work. The focus of the program is to provide students with technical expertise in finished photography as well as to develop an understanding of concept development and the photographic process.
