2-Semester Pathway - International Foundation Year - Science and Engineering - Transfer to Master of Engineering - Electrical and Electronic Engineering (with an industrial placement year)

Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In your International Foundation Year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

In the International Foundation Year in Sciences & Engineering, you will explore and begin to understand the power of engineering and science in the real world. While you begin to learn the technical aspects of your desired degree program you will also be provided with a critical outlook and approach employers want in your chosen field.

The Master of Engineering (MEng) degree lets you specialise your degree with a range of options and provides you with the educational requirements needed to become a Chartered Engineer.

You’ll study the MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in our £12-million Future Technologies Labs, which provides a new space for building robots, programming embedded systems and digital signal processors, as well as state-of-the-art computer design and modelling suites. You will use our industry sponsored electronics laboratories, electrical drive systems, and control engineering laboratories and could be part of one of the Formula Student teams.

As you progress, you’ll focus on electrical or electronic engineering. You’ll get specialist training in applications ranging from semiconductor devices to electric motors for future green transport.
