The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

Master of Arts - Creative Writing and the Writing Industries: The Master of Arts - Creative Writing and the Writing Industries offers the opportunity to develop skills in a range of genres, and the impetus to work towards completed creative work of publishable standard. It also exposes the students to a wide range of professional development training and opportunities, encouraging them to think about their transferrable skills and career as a writer, as well as their own writing. The programme includes core creative writing modules alongside professional development: they will learn how these things relate to each other in the case of each individual; their writing, skills and aspirations. There are workshops on a range of genres in fiction, creative non-fiction and poetry, as well as sessions on how to plan, structure and edit completed work in their chosen form.
