Higher National Diploma - Mechanical Engineering (HND)

Mechanical Engineering HND is a full-time course taught over two years at Edinburgh College’s Midlothian Campus. Students will learn a range of modules including Thermofluids and Engineering Principles. These will be taught at a high level allowing students to develop transferable skills which are essential for their future engineering career.

This course combines engineering techniques with hands-on learning. Students will learn the skills required to solve mechanical engineering problems in a wide variety of industries such as; traditional energy, renewable energy, manufacturing, transport and materials.

The course is taught by teachers with industry experience using the latest industry technologies. Students will be taught between Edinburgh College classrooms and workshops where they will gain essential and hands-on experience of the engineering sector. This course is intended to meet the requirements of employers and universities.
