What you will study

With a combined Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Management (B.A./B.Mgt.) degree, the student can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, if the student is interested in managing an art gallery, they can major in art and general management. If sports marketing ignites their passion, they can major in kinesiology and marketing. The Combined B.A./B.Mgt. degree program takes five years (50 courses) to complete and leads to the conferral of two degrees.. Finance is the study of financial decision making in investment, portfolio management and corporate finance as well as managing risk in a volatile economy. Finance incorporates the basics of economics, accounting and statistics through quantitative and qualitative methods. Finance students experience the best financial management education through hands-on training inside and outside the classroom. ULethbridge’s world class Centre for Financial Market Research and Teaching, or 'trading room" is fully integrated into the teaching, bridging the student’s academic knowledge and practical experience, making them career ready. About the Finance major: Students will study areas such as corporate and personal finance, fundamentals of investments, global financial management, financial technology (FinTech), managerial skill development, and management policy and strategy. Students will draw from fields such as economics, human resources management, social responsibility, English, psychology, and marketing.

Geography deals with the diverse landscapes around the world. It is about everything from the original formation of the earth’s surface, to the effects humans have on the environment: past, present and future.

The primary focus of the program is to give students the skills necessary to analyze the organization and interaction of all creatures and ecological processes on the planet — and sometimes beyond it — to address real-world issues.

The department is particularly strong in the areas of geographical information science (GIS) and remote sensing, water research and rural & urban studies; areas of spectacular growth in research, teaching and employment for graduates.

Students will have access to the latest hardware and software available in geography, economics, environment, agriculture, ecology, planning etc, as well as state-of-the-art facilities like the Alberta Water and Environmental Science Building. This facility provides the infrastructure to support the research interests of University of Lethbridge’s award-winning faculty, the instructors, as they investigate diverse areas such as: weather and climate, water, glaciers, sediments, plants and insects.
