What you will study
Accountants and finance professionals are at the heart of almost every organization. They use their expertise to help organizations make good business decisions and create value for stakeholders. In this BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree, students will develop analytical techniques, economic expertise and strategic insight and learn how to apply their accounting knowledge and skills in the financial and business sectors.
Year 1 gives students a grounding in accounting and an introduction to business finance, economics, and the mathematical and statistical tools they'll use in their financial career.
Students will build on their accountancy knowledge and practice in year 2, and choose optional modules in subjects such as taxation and personal finance that allow them to shape their degree to their ambitions.
The final year focuses on advanced topics and more optional modules giving students the opportunity to complete a dissertation and study project on an area that interests them.
Between years 2 and 3, students will have the chance to study abroad at a partner university or enhance their career prospects and apply their skills in the workplace in a year-long sandwich placement.
