This nine-month Automotive Technician certificate program is one of the best programs available for engine-lovers. Students will learn to thrive in a shop environment with their commitment to vehicle and customer service.

In this program, students will learn to repair and service both cars and light-duty trucks with a focus on fundamental shop skills. From there, they will gain skills in repairing engines, powertrains and electrical systems. Students will work inside Assiniboine Community College's modern automotive shop at the Len Evans Centre for Trades and Technology.

Students will graduate with valuable, in-demand skills so they can take advantage of career opportunities at automobile dealerships, repair and service shops, as well as automotive component parts and body shops. They will steer their career in the right direction with work experience during their time at Assiniboine Community College. Students will get essential on-the-job training as they meet with possible employers.

Students can register as an apprentice within two years of completing the program, and their in-school technical training may count towards their Level 1 Automotive Service Technician.
