What you will study
Ravensbourne University London’s foundation diploma allows students to experience broadcast and media production practice to help them assess their strengths and confirm their specialist area of interest.
Students will receive practical guidance throughout, including interview preparation and how to best present their portfolio.
In the first stage, students will explore the following subject areas: • Animation • Broadcasting, film and video • Digital photography • Sound design
This series of introductory projects incorporates core disciplines of narrative and non-linear storytelling. These are explored through research, observation skills and digital media manipulation.
Students will deepen and develop specialist knowledge within their chosen subject area. They will be able to fully integrate research, ideas and methods to negotiate successful practical outcomes underpinned by theoretical understanding. This will enable them to build a competitive portfolio when applying for higher education and employment.
During the final stage, students will undertake and complete a major seven- week project, reflecting on their chosen specialist area and their planned progression path; this project will culminate in a public exhibition of their work.
