Doctor of Allied Health Professions offers access to a structured doctoral support programme, including monthly sessions that enable engagement with peers at different stages of their studies. Additional development opportunities are provided through the Central Research Office, along with an annual Summer School.

This program is defined as an original contribution to knowledge and differs from taught master’s programmes in that the primary output is an extended dissertation or creative project, rather than module-based coursework and examinations. Research students are expected to take responsibility for directing their own learning, supported by a supervisory team.

Within Allied Health Studies, each research student is guided by a member of academic staff with expertise in the chosen field. Students become part of an active academic community and benefit from peer support through initiatives such as the monthly Doctoral Support Group.
