North Island College - Campbell River
This nationally accredited program is designed in collaboration with industry experts. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, equipping graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in British Columbia's forestry sector. Students will learn about:
• Ecology • Silviculture • Forest measurements and operations • Sustainable resource management • Coastal forest systems • Cultural resource management • Occupational safety
Additionally, they will be introduced to the latest technologies and practices in the industry, ensuring that their skills align with current trends and innovations in forest management.
After graduation, students can work in forestry, resource management, and environmental stewardship and become Trainee Forest Technologists (TFT).
They can also pursue certification as Registered Forest Technologists (RFT) with the Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP), allowing them to work in forest planning, operations, management, or consulting.
