2-Semester Pathway - International Foundation Year - Science and Engineering - Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (with an industrial placement year)

Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In your International Foundation Year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

In the International Foundation Year in Sciences & Engineering, you will explore and begin to understand the power of engineering and science in the real world. While you begin to learn the technical aspects of your desired degree program you will also be provided with a critical outlook and approach employers want in your chosen field.

Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Sussex explores the scientific basis of intelligence in animals and machines. You’ll look at: • the fundamentals of computer science

• the principles of adaptive behaviour and intelligent systems • applications including robotics and text mining.

You’ll study in the £12-million Future Technologies Labs, which include a student-focused hub, teaching labs with suites of high-spec computers, and project workspaces.

You can shape your degree to suit your interests, specialising either in technology or in cognitive science – the interdisciplinary study of intelligence and mind.
