Bachelor of Arts - English Literature & Media Studies (Honours) (RFE)

The English Literature program at Trent University enable students to pursue their passions through poetry, prose, plays and other texts. Whether students are enthusiastic about novels or enjoy the succinctness of critical writing, in English at Trent University they can explore the lasting impact of how people write and share stories of the human experience. Students will explore the written word across time periods ranging from medieval romance to the Harlem renaissance to contemporary graphic fiction. Students will also get career-ready with creativity, critical inquiry, and strong communication skills, and through the English Literature Co-op stream’s they can put their writing styles and language skills to the real world test while gaining valuable career experience.

Particularly in today’s high-speed digital environment, people need multimedia researchers and creators to examine the social, political and cultural dimensions and implications of various forms of media. The dynamic Media Studies program at Trent University takes a multidisciplinary approach to the understanding of media practices and effects, giving students a platform to gain practical multimedia experience and flex their creative muscles.
