English for Academic Purposes

With the focus primarily academic in nature, these formats offer maximum benefit to participants wishing to upgrade their English for university study. The Intensive English Term Format and the Intensive English Term Segment can equip students with the English language skills they need. The challenging academic classes focus on learning targets to improve one's ability to write, read, problem solve, study independently, give presentations, and improve note-taking and critical thinking skills.

Why take this program? • Classes are held Monday through Friday • Full-time language studies incorporates class time, homework, tutorials and advising • Available for all language proficiency levels, beginner to advanced • Participants commit to function only in English during all classes, projects and workshops • Specialized ELP curriculum in major components of language (oral, aural, speaking, reading, writing) designed to improve students’ abilities to communicate effectively, efficiently and spontaneously at a level appropriate to undergraduate/graduate study

This program is offered Monday through Friday (35+ hours per week) and offers individualized timetables, exposure to various teachers, and access to the UNB library system. Students can choose from an entire term or a segment of the term.
