Master of Arts (Honours) - Russian Studies and Scandinavian Studies (RR76)

The University of Edinburgh

What you will study

The joint honors program offers students the opportunity to delve into the languages and cultures of two influential regions in modern Europe. With approximately 150 million Russian speakers worldwide, as well as the significant impact of Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish languages beyond the Nordic region, this program provides a comprehensive understanding of these linguistic and cultural spheres.

Students will engage in intensive language study, including a year abroad, to develop advanced proficiency in both Russian and a Scandinavian language of their choice - be it Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish. This immersive experience allows for the acquisition of both spoken and written skills.

Furthermore, students will explore various facets of Russophone and Scandinavian culture, complementing their language classes. The curriculum encompasses literature, history, politics, and languages, presented in themed and comparative contexts.
