Cardiff University - Cathays Park
The Archaeology postgraduate research programme, based within the School of History, Archaeology and Religion, offers students the opportunity to join a dynamic academic community with a strong reputation for developing future researchers. Under expert supervision, students engage in a stimulating research environment that promotes critical discussion and collaboration through internationally connected research centres and regular seminar series. The programme supports interdisciplinary research projects, often in partnership with major funding bodies such as the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Wellcome Trust.
The programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and expertise required for careers in research, academia, heritage, museums, consultancy, and related sectors. Research activity spans a wide geographical range, from north-west Scotland to regions such as the Levant and Egypt, and covers an extensive chronological scope from the early Holocene to the medieval period. This breadth enables students to pursue diverse research interests within a supportive and well-resourced academic environment.
