The Cosmetic Science program is Ontario's only one-year laboratory-based graduate certificate. It combines science, art, and business to develop cosmetic and personal care products. Student will focus on formulation, using chemistry to understand the process from raw materials to finished products, and gain hands-on experience with industry equipment while learning about evolving regulations. Key topics include product development, sales and marketing, global challenges, and quality systems. Additionally, They can participate in an optional work term after completing your first semester. Throughout this program student will develop the following skills: • Apply the cosmetic development process to manufacture and market a product
• Formulate various cosmetic products to include sensory modifications
• Analyze products to ensure they meet regulatory requirements for sale
• Create product evaluation strategies for safety and product life
• Develop an entrepreneurial mindset to succeed in the cosmetics industry
