What you will study

University Pathways Fast Track at RMIT UP is an accelerated pathway designed for high-achieving international students, preparing them for university in half the time of a Foundation Studies course. Delivered over one semester by RMIT UP (CRICOS provider number: 01912G), a fully owned entity of RMIT University, the program equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future academic success.

Located in the heart of Melbourne, RMIT UP’s specialist staff support students throughout their journey, while providing opportunities to build global and social networks that contribute to success at RMIT and beyond.

To ensure students get the best start to their studies, RMIT offers careers counselling, as well as academic and welfare support services that can be accessed flexibly.

University Pathways Fast Track features focused, discipline-based streams, allowing students to align their studies with their interests and goals. Available streams include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Art, Design and Architecture, Business, and Communication and Social Context.

Bachelor of Information Technology - Professional (BP349) (110802F) RMIT’s Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional) comprises three years of study followed by a one-year industry internship in the final year, organised with the support of the School of Computing Technologies. The internship provides students with a valuable opportunity to develop professional and technical skills while building and extending their professional networks.

The program incorporates work-integrated learning, enabling students to apply theory in practice through RMIT’s industry-inspired programming studios. In these studios, students are trained to apply their skills to the development of large-scale software applications. The degree also includes a capstone project, offering hands-on experience in developing software within a workplace environment.

With a broad range of contemporary IT subjects reflecting emerging technologies, and a strong emphasis on professional development, the program allows students to explore and pursue career paths aligned with their interests and goals.
