Honours Bachelor of Behaviour Analysis (Year 3 Bridge) (S303) (Co-op)
George Brown Polytechnic - Waterfront
What you will study
The Honours Bachelor of Behaviour Analysis (S303) is an accelerated degree program designed to provide an in-depth understanding of behavioural psychology, with a strong focus on applied behaviour analysis (ABA). It is intended for students who have completed two years of a behavioural science technology or technician program with a minimum GPA requirement. The program begins with a spring/summer bridging semester, after which students enter directly into the third year of the four-year degree.
The curriculum emphasizes ABA as a scientific and evidence-based approach to understanding and modifying behaviour. Students learn to conduct comprehensive behavioural assessments using interviews and observation, develop targeted intervention plans to reduce problem behaviours and build new skills, and continuously evaluate and refine these interventions based on measurable outcomes. The program highlights the application of ABA across a range of populations, including individuals with autism spectrum disorder, brain injury, developmental disabilities, addiction, and mental health conditions.
In addition to classroom learning, the program incorporates significant practical experience through field placement. Students participate in a block placement in semester six, followed by a 14-week field experience between semesters six and seven, during which they are also expected to complete a research thesis. Throughout this process, students receive guidance from faculty and field coordinators, as well as support from on-site supervisors, ensuring they gain hands-on experience and professional readiness in real-world settings.
