What you will study
The BA (Hons) Business Management, Analytics and Technology with Placement Year is a Chartered Management Institute (CMI)–accredited programme designed for those who want to both understand business and actively apply it in practice. With a strong emphasis on how information technology supports and drives business performance, the course develops practical analytical and problem-solving skills that help graduates stand out in a competitive market.
The programme covers a wide range of core business concepts, including responsible management, business ethics, business analytics, digital media, innovation and globalisation. By specialising in business management and business technology, students develop a broad understanding of current and emerging business IT, learning how it informs decision-making, how the commercial management of IT can be critically evaluated, and why business analytics plays a strategic role in modern organisations.
Teaching and learning are delivered through varied, interactive and engaging methods, including lectures, tutor-led and student-led seminars, individual and small-group tutorials, consultancy projects, work experience, self-directed study, joint projects with overseas students, and optional placement and internship opportunities.
A key element of the final year is the Business Consultancy Project. After developing essential project management and research skills, students apply these capabilities to solve a real business problem. This experience brings together academic knowledge and practical skills, builds professional confidence, and provides valuable real-world business experience.
