A Library & Information Technician (LIT) manages daily operations of libraries, archives, and information centers. Under librarians, they organize, catalog, and retrieve information, provide patron services, manage collections, and use library software. This two-year diploma program prepares students for various library roles, focusing on essential operations and collaboration with librarians. Students learn to provide materials and services to clients and become proficient in acquiring and organizing library materials using industry-specific software. Skills developed in this program include: • Delivering services like circulation, reference, interlibrary loan, and programs
• Finding information from various sources for clients
• Acquiring, preparing, and organizing library materials
• Using library-specific software
• Supervising circulation and acquisitions staff
• Promoting libraries through material development and advocacy
