Loughborough University - Loughborough Campus
The MA Digital Media and Communication programme allows students to examine real-world case studies, ranging from traditional media to social platforms, classical propaganda to contemporary disinformation. They will gain valuable insights and produce reports that will be essential for a successful career in communications.
Throughout the programme, students explore a variety of key questions, including:
How do companies position themselves in an increasingly competitive marketplace? How do they manage crises and respond to challenges?
How are governments—local, regional, and national—promoting their policies to global stakeholders? What role do high-profile media events play in this process?
Are social media platforms transforming individuals into brands? Should there be concern about the rise of branding culture? How do digital technologies empower different groups, and who benefits most?
The focus of the programme is on how various organisations develop and implement strategies to communicate not only products and ideas but also places and experiences. A key area of interest is the impact of digitalisation and globalisation on these communication practices. Students will have the opportunity to engage with both theoretical approaches and practical examples from around the world.
The Centre for Research in Communication and Culture at Loughborough University provides a rich environment for studying how media and cultural texts are produced and how they shape society. The Communication and Media department, ranked in the QS World Top 100, equips students with the knowledge to navigate the complex and dynamic world of media and communications.
Delivered by world-renowned academics, this programme helps students understand the context and content of media. They will develop the skills and confidence to analyse and influence the fast-changing field of media and communication, preparing them for a wide range of careers.
