The School of Music offers both professional and liberal arts degree programs in music, as well as courses that enrich the general education and cultural life of the University. The Bachelor of Arts in Music provides a humanistic approach to the study of music as a significant part of human tradition and culture. All music majors are assigned a faculty advisor with whom they confer each semester to develop an appropriate program of study. The Bachelor of Arts degree is a flexible, liberal-arts degree, with an emphasis in music. In consultation with a faculty advisor, students in the Bachelor of Arts may plan a course of study in an area of interest.
