Data analysts help people and organizations collect, transform, analyze, and visualize data to communicate results that inform and guide decision making. The Data Analytics and Software Development program prepares students to become data practitioners in public and private sector roles such as programmer/analysts, data analysts, and business analysts. The program also delivers a strong foundation for students planning on continuing their education in the Information Technology-Software Development, BAS (applied baccalaureate) degree program at Green River College.
Successful graduates of the program should be able to: • Solve data-related problems using a programming language. • Extract data from a database using a relational database language. • Demonstrate the ability to acquire, clean, and prepare data for analysis. • Perform basic data analysis techniques such as filtering, aggregation, and joins. • Produce and interpret data visualizations to describe, explore, and communicate insights from data. • Understand and demonstrate basic programming and database constructs.
