Master of Arts (Honours) - Scandinavian Studies and Spanish (RR64)

The University of Edinburgh

What you will study

The joint honors program offers students the opportunity to study two distinct European languages within their respective cultural contexts.

Spanish, being the fourth most widely spoken language globally, holds significant importance. Similarly, the languages and cultures of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden have had a profound impact beyond the Nordic region.

Moreover, this programme serves as a gateway to exploring numerous cultures and societies across Latin America and the Caribbean, in addition to Europe.

By engaging in intensive language study, including a year abroad, students can develop advanced spoken and written skills in both Spanish and a Scandinavian language, such as Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish.

Complementing the language classes, students will delve into various aspects of Scandinavian, Spanish, and Latin American culture. The curriculum covers literature, cinema, history, politics, and languages within themed and comparative contexts.
