English for Academic Purposes (EAPC)

Students can prepare for a better job or further studies at college or university by upgrading their proficiency in English. They can improve their everyday conversation, formal language skills and TOEFL and IELTS scores, while earning credits towards further study.

There’s something for every style of learning with a variety of teaching techniques to improve both students' formal English language skills and functional everyday usage. Students will: • Develop confidence in their speaking and understanding during weekly classroom discussions. • Practise pronunciation, grammar and listening skills in computer-based language labs. • Get familiar with computers and the vocabulary of technology. • Complete practical writing assignments with support from their professors. • Gain a better understanding of Canadian culture through contemporary readings and group discussions. • Pursue their personal interests and goals with two elective courses of their choice, and earn credits toward future diploma studies.
