Program Highlights
The program addresses a unique and growing industry demand for interdisciplinary sustainability practitioners with knowledge and skills that bridge technology, environmental considerations, and economic and social impacts. This dynamic and interdisciplinary program combines technical expertise in sustainable technologies—such as renewable energy, sustainable building design and operations, and resource management—with highly sought-after skills in project management, policy development, regulatory frameworks, and research. It empowers graduates to take on leadership roles in the sustainability sector.
Students apply their learning through a capstone course or project and gain practical experience through a work term placement. Graduates of this three-year program are career-ready and capable of applying their practical skills in diverse professional contexts.
Learning Outcomes
Students develop essential skills in environmental studies, sustainable technologies, management, leadership, data analytics, project management, and policy-making, with an emphasis on renewable energy, sustainable building design, and resource management.
By focusing on real-world applications, the program prepares students to drive meaningful change and succeed in a range of careers dedicated to building a sustainable future. Graduates are equipped to collaborate effectively with engineers, planners, architects, and environmental technologists to design innovative solutions that address today’s most pressing global challenges.
Throughout their studies, students gain expertise in sustainability technologies, environmental science, policy, and regulations, while strengthening their skills in project management and communication.
In the first two years of the program, students engage in applied learning experiences that prepare them for a work term placement. In the final year, they integrate and apply their skills in a real-world industry or community-based capstone project.
