University Pathways Fast Track at RMIT UP is an accelerated pathway designed for high-achieving international students, preparing them for university in half the time of a Foundation Studies course. Delivered over one semester by RMIT UP (CRICOS provider number: 01912G), a fully owned entity of RMIT University, the program equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future academic success.

Located in the heart of Melbourne, RMIT UP’s specialist staff support students throughout their journey, while providing opportunities to build global and social networks that contribute to success at RMIT and beyond.

To ensure students get the best start to their studies, RMIT offers careers counselling, as well as academic and welfare support services that can be accessed flexibly.

University Pathways Fast Track features focused, discipline-based streams, allowing students to align their studies with their interests and goals. Available streams include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Art, Design and Architecture, Business, and Communication and Social Context.

Bachelor of Engineering - Software Engineering (Honours) (BH120CY) (115631B) The RMIT Bachelor of Engineering (Software Engineering) (Honours) combines computer science, engineering, and mathematics to prepare students to develop software applications, embedded systems, hardware devices, and data-driven solutions. The program responds to growing industry demand in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital platforms, robotics, virtual reality, and big data.

Bridging both digital systems and software domains, students gain a comprehensive understanding of computing hardware by working with physical platforms in laboratory settings before advancing into software development and enterprise solutions. They develop skills across the full spectrum of system design, from low-level programming to user interface design and high-level application development.

Through projects and work-integrated learning, students gain experience solving real-world problems, often leading to employment opportunities after graduation. The program also emphasises the development of interpersonal and communication skills, enabling graduates to collaborate effectively across teams and take on leadership roles within organisations.
