What you will study
Program Description The Diploma of Health Sciences provides an introduction into a range of health professions and can help students discover their ideal role in the rapidly evolving health sector. Students who successfully complete this diploma can pursue a number of Allied Health-related degrees at La Trobe University leading to a future in physiotherapy, occupational health, paramedicine, podiatry, nutrition science and much more.
Upon successful completion of the Diploma of Health Sciences students qualify for direct entry to the second year of: • Bachelor of Health Sciences (majors in: health promotion, health and medical sciences, public health, rehabilitation counselling, Health wellbeing and performance) • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) • Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours)
• Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) • Bachelor of Nutrition Science
• Bachelor of Nursing • Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (Honours)
• Bachelor of Orthoptics (Honours) • Bachelor of Podiatry (Honours)
The degree may take between two and four years to complete after finishing the Diploma of Health Sciences, depending on the chosen degree.
