Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Forensic Science with Foundation Year (F412)

The BSc (Hons) Forensic Science at the University of West London enables students to develop knowledge of biological and chemical sciences to support crime scene investigations and prepares them for a career as forensic scientists in a field with increasing demand.

Students will learn how to investigate a crime scene from the perspective of a forensic crime scene examiner and expert witness.

Using case studies based on actual crimes and guided by expert tutors, students will explore evidence retrieval and processing, evaluation of forensic evidence, follow-up procedures and other core forensic skills.

The University’s cutting-edge facilities, including a suite of Crime Scene Rooms and a dedicated Blood Spatter Research Room, enable students to develop essential investigative and research abilities in a practical context.

These skills, combined with hands-on, work-based learning, will help students stand out to employers who value practical experience.

The course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.

The BSc (Hons) Forensic Science at the University of West London also offers a foundation year. The foundation year course is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to continue on to their honours degree. Students will study a range of subjects that will underpin their future study and gain valuable experience of university life, with full access to campus facilities. Successful completion of the year allows students to progress straight on to Level 4 of the course.
