What you will study

The BA (Hons) Education Studies at the University of West London prepares students for a wide range of graduate careers in education, including roles in family support, youth work, local authorities, charities, museums and galleries.

Upon graduation, students will also be well equipped to progress to postgraduate teacher training, enabling careers in schools, early years settings or further education, as well as opportunities to train adults in the workplace or teach specialist skills such as sports or languages.

The course develops the skills needed to work with learners of different age groups while drawing on the fields of psychology, sociology and history, and can also lead to further study in these areas.

Students will explore key topics shaping education today, including the use of digital tools such as generative artificial intelligence (AI) to support learning, inclusive education and supporting diverse learners, international and comparative education, and leadership and management in education.

The course places strong emphasis on empowering learners from diverse backgrounds and improving educational outcomes, with a focus on supporting neurodiversity, wellbeing and language development.
