What you will study

Program Description The UAL (University of the Arts London) Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts is a two year course and is equivalent to three A Levels in the UCAS points system. Students will be provided with a breadth of study across the disciplines of dance, acting and singing covering a range of skills such as: • Acting technique

• Classical theatre • Singing technique • Contemporary movement • Musical theatre performance • Theatre for children • Scripted performance • Improvisation • Ensemble singing • Jazz • Devising • Ballet

Although the emphasis is on practical and performance work, students will need to complete written assignments and develop their skills as an informed and reflective practitioner through evaluative logbooks and rehearsal diaries. Students will learn to evaluate and comment critically on both professional work and their own creative practice, gaining insight into the wider performing arts industry through contextual and industry studies. Students will take part in a wide range of performances which include small scale sharing of work as well as larger productions in outside venues.
