What you will study
Program Description This student-centred course with research-inspired teaching is accredited by the British Psychological Society, so when students graduate with at least a Second Class Honours, they are eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartership, the first step towards becoming a Chartered Psychologist.
Why Psychology at BU?
The diversity of the topics offered on the course will provide both the breadth and depth of knowledge which will well-prepare students for any career, whether in psychology (such as in mental health or forensic) or outside (such as HR, the police, management). BU's staff’s expertise and extensive collaborations with the mental health sector (e.g. the NHS), the criminal justice system (e.g., the police), the educational system, industrial partners (e.g. Microsoft) and local communities/charitable trusts will also benefit students' learning and career path.
Students will be situated with the Department of Psychology and will learn theories and practical skills covering a range of psychological approaches, including social, biological, developmental and cognitive psychology, as well as more specialist topics, such as forensic, clinical, cyber, consumer, educational psychology, and neuropsychology through state-of-the art facilities. Importantly, they will acquire generic skills which are readily transferable to future careers, such as critical thinking, project management, presentation skills and professional practice. Students will become some of the most highly employable graduates around.
