Overview
The information explosion has led to large data sets and a need to analyze big data. Advances in hardware, software, and statistical techniques are enabling automated analysis of patterns and models for various applications, from scientific discovery to business intelligence. Consequently, data-driven decision making is becoming standard across industries, creating high demand for data-oriented professionals. Extracting patterns and trends from these vast data sets requires mathematical guidance and programming expertise. The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Data Science is Canada's first undergraduate degree of its kind, addressing modern business and industry data needs. Graduates will be prepared for diverse career opportunities through studies in mathematics, statistics, data analytics, and computing technologies, along with courses in computer science, data analysis, business, and economics.
