Langara College
Langara College's Diploma in Digital Media and Design is an employment-focused, multidisciplinary program that bridges the gaps between technological skills and foundational professional skills.
Students gain the digital fluency and creativity needed to thrive in web, UI, and UX design roles. Design- and technology-focused courses build the skills to create visual narratives, develop compelling digital content, work effectively with code, and apply generative artificial intelligence tools in their work. The program features a curriculum that develops students’ essential skills as well as technological proficiency, enabling them to pursue further studies or evolve with the global economy.
In addition to primarily project-based coursework, a three-credit capstone course in the second year provides an opportunity for students to showcase their employment skills and expertise in technology and innovation to future employers.
DGMD students learn the foundations of:
• Project management for technology trends • Ethical AI tool application • Interactive design and web authoring • Design thinking and prototyping • Cross-media problem solving • Indigenous knowledge and decolonization practices • Multi-platform digital communication • Data analysis and reporting • Strategic problem-solving • Accessibility and inclusion advocacy
