What you will study

The combined Bachelor of Health Science - Public Health/Bachelor of Management (B.H.Sc./B.Mgt.) degree program is a rarity in Canada that blends public health and management, and the Dhillon School of Business is the only one to offer this degree at an undergraduate level.

Students who choose to complete this Bachelor of Management major may be required to extend their program beyond 50 courses. Please meet with an advisor to determine their major requirements.

Bachelor of Management - Accounting Accountants are central to the operations and strategies of all types of organizations as well as the foundation of short- and long-term success. Accountants provide business and financial advice by measuring, analyzing, forecasting and reporting organizational performance, resources and risk. They are required to have integrity and the ability to think critically, communicate, and interact with others effectively.

Accounting students gain technical skills and learn how to address a broad range of business problems. They will acquire and practice the skills needed for success, including writing and presenting, using professional tools and case analyses. Students study financial reporting, individual and corporate taxation, business analytics and information systems, auditing, management control systems and costing, as well as variety of other management disciplines.

Bachelor of Health Sciences - Public Health Public health is focused on prevention rather than the treatment of disease. It examines the overall health of a population with the aim of developing strategies to promote and protect health.

Through course work and hands-on experience, the public health major at University of Lethbridge will provide students with the skills and tools needed to prevent disease/injury and to promote, and protect the health and well-being of Canadians and populations across the globe.

The core of the work in public health is to take steps to prevent chronic and infectious disease before it occurs. Students can join the program to be part of this exciting and rapidly expanding field and have a positive influence on their world!
