Overview

This University of Liverpool pathway covers the learning of both Latin and Greek and reading texts in the original language. The programme extends from beginners level in both languages to advanced level, and students will be put into the programme at the stage that fits with any previous experience they have had. There are five levels for each language in this programme, and students are slotted in at the appropriate level for their language experience. It may be that students will do Greek I at the same time as Latin III if they have an A level in Latin and not in Greek. Archaeology at 50% provides students with a solid understanding of archaeological methods and theory, combined with the study of the archaeology of specific geographical areas and chronological periods. This enables students to build highly transferable skills (team-working, critical thinking, synthesizing information and data, IT and oral skills) into any humanities degree.
