BSc Business Management with Communications offers an exciting mix of a solid business management programme with a twist of creativity. It equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand business, management, marketing and communication on both a national and global scale. This established programme benefits from Birmingham Business School’s strong links with global companies, with teaching from industry experts. Students enjoy hands-on application of theory in a series of workshops, supported by industry professionals. Practical small group workshops facilitate experiential learning in a creative environment, allowing students to explore and devise communications and marketing collateral for business. Students will also study a wide range of topics from the Business Management programme, allowing them to keep their career options open, and to demonstrate a broad understanding of business and a wide range of transferable skills. The first year provides a broad-based business management foundation with Principles of Marketing as a foundational module, including specialist communications guest lectures. In the second and final years, students will study contemporary communications strategies with more Marketing options to suit, whilst uniquely building a portfolio via creative campaign workshops, including producing marketing video for the web. In the final year, there is the opportunity to undertake a summer placement, for example with a public relations, marketing or social media agency, or students will complete an internship for a large company in a marketing or communications role.
