What you will study

With a combined Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Management (B.A./B.Mgt.) or a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Management (B.Sc./B.Mgt.) degree, students can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, for candidates who are interested in managing an art gallery, they can major in art and general management. For those who are interested in sports marketing, they can major in kinesiology and marketing.

The Combined B.A./B.Mgt. or B.Sc./B.Mgt. degree program takes five years (50 courses) to complete and leads to the conferral of two degrees.

Psychology delves into what makes people tick. Psychologists study the relationship between mind and behavior by investigating the nature of thought processes and behaviors in humans and other animals.

Psychologists also study the evolutionary, social and cultural factors affecting the development of human thoughts and behaviors, focusing on topics that have a direct bearing on people's day-to-day experience.

Psychology students develop skills in analyzing and interpreting complex material, particularly as it relates to behavior. They will learn theories of how people interpret the world and act in it, as well as theories of human behavior.

Psychology students will learn from those at the forefront of psychological research. The faculty members are regularly published in the top journals and make an ongoing contribution to an ever-advancing field.

Students will inevitably become savvy and critical consumers of evidence-based information related to people’s behavior such as self-help, psychological and medical advice.

Marketing, a combination of art and science, is the core of any business. It helps identify consumer needs; guides the development of new products, services or communications strategies ensuring products and services are available where and when consumers want them; determines prices; and has the ability to adjust all of these for domestic and international markets. Almost one-third of North Americans are employed in marketing or marketing-related positions.

Marketers are the crucial link between an organization, their suppliers and their end-users, building relationships that benefit all parties. Marketers must have a strong understanding of the customer, whether an individual or an organization so they can effectively advise on all aspects of marketing.

Students learn to balance project experience with the latest theoretical concepts and study courses like consumer behavior, advertising and promotions, managing responsibly in a global environment, economics, sports marketing, communications and social media, cross-cultural marketing, and statistics. They also draw from fields such as history, English, political science, economics and sociology.
