Overview

TAFE NSW's Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques will provide students with the skills and knowledge to perform a range of manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory techniques for the purpose of collecting and preparing samples.

Students will look forward to a career which can include specialist testing across a variety of sectors. They will learn to adjust formulations and production mixes, process and interpret data, train other personnel to follow established procedures, conduct basic tests and evaluate progress and quality.

TAFE NSW's Diploma of Laboratory Technology (Food) will strengthen students' laboratory skills and prepare students for roles as a laboratory officer or technician in the food manufacturing industry.

At TAFE NSW, students will study the very latest techniques for the widest range of analysis in chemical and biological labs. These have been built to strict OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation & Development) Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines to simulate real working laboratories. There is a strong focus on practical skills, as well as supervisory and safety skills which will make students a highly sought after graduate.
