University Certificate - Regenerative Agriculture (Williams Lake Campus Only)

TRU’s Regenerative Agriculture program is the first in British Columbia, aimed at aspiring and current farmers and changemakers. It combines practical experience with academic knowledge for a sustainable agricultural future. Engage in developing resilient regenerative agriculture enterprises that harmonize with nature. Acquire skills in producing nutrient-dense foods, enhancing soil organic matter and water retention, sequestering carbon, and reducing fossil fuel use. Benefit from experiential learning through a host farm practicum or a unique self-directed learning plan. Students work on host or personal farms, gaining practical skills in their chosen enterprises. The program offers a solid foundation in business management and applies regenerative agriculture concepts across various landscapes. In the second year, students focus on pasture-raised beef and sheep production, winter forage, agri-tourism, and food sovereignty. Instead of exams, students complete assignments that contribute to their final business and operations plan, presenting it at the ‘Bull’s Den’ for feedback from a panel of experts, marking a highlight of their learning experience.
