Overview

The course develops specialist marketing knowledge while also covering key management subjects, including purchasing, international supply chain management, lean systems, cost reduction, and people management. Graduates gain the skills and knowledge required to work in a variety of strategic roles. The programme integrates fundamental marketing tactics with applied awareness of organisational assets, finance, and data, enabling students to critically apply skills and techniques across diverse management scenarios while exploring both marketing and logistics functions within organisations. The degree can be tailored through optional modules in areas such as corporate IT, social media, content, branding, and sustainability, providing the knowledge, confidence, and creativity needed to shape organisational marketing, logistics, and purchasing strategies.

Teaching methods are varied, interactive, and practice-focused, including lectures and seminars led by academic staff and guest speakers, individual and group-based practical assignments, and projects for real company briefs such as advertising campaigns, blogs, infographics, social media content, videos, and TV commercials. The programme also incorporates visits to exhibitions, trade fairs, and companies, alongside placements, internships, and research projects. Assessment is primarily through coursework, including individual and group tasks that replicate real business scenarios, such as written reports with data and case studies, visual presentations, and creative outputs including infographics, advertisements, films, blogs, podcasts, and client-focused projects. Group work at earlier levels prepares students for collaborative marketing environments, while independent research and critical analysis are emphasised at the final level.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the leading professional body for marketers worldwide, partners with the programme to provide opportunities for professional qualifications. These qualifications are highly valued by employers and are embedded within the degree curriculum, ensuring that graduates are well equipped for successful careers in marketing.
