The MA Acting and Theatre Making at the University of West London enables students to explore their practice as actors, creators and theatre practitioners.

Students will investigate and develop their skills and knowledge of theatre languages, including text, music, space and physicality, and will observe creative processes, acting and embodiment from a range of perspectives. This includes the creation of original work using different theatre languages, adaptation of existing material with dramatic potential, and exploring approaches to characterisation within broader socio-political, cultural and geographical contexts.

While developing theatre practice skills, students will also examine the planning involved in studio practice, including facilitating workshops and leading rehearsals, and will carry these through to curating and creating performance events.

The course aims to support students in becoming independent theatre practitioners who can build or expand careers in theatre by creating and producing their own work, as well as applying their skills to related activities such as research, event curation and workshop facilitation.
