Overview

Explore the key concepts of financial sustainability, while preparing for a fast-paced finance career, with University of Reading's BSc Finance (Sustainable Finance) degree. Recent changes in finance – including the need to focus on sustainable investment and environmental principles – have necessitated change across the financial world.

Develop the key skills and knowledge to meet these changes head-on, as students gain expertise in sustainable finance and business ethics. Students' studies will be underpinned by core modules on the essentials of business and finance, giving them a thorough understanding of the financial sector.

Reading's focus on self-development aims to prepare students for the external market – from internships and placements to full-time employment. The skills required to secure, and succeed, in future roles are embedded into the curriculum.

For example, students will undertake a group project on portfolio management in the second year. Within this project, students will have the opportunity to put their quantitative skills and knowledge of investment analysis into practice, gain new experiences, and open themselves up to new ways of thinking.

In the third year, students have the opportunity to continue their studies at one of Reading's overseas partner universities. Staff will help students decide where to go and for how long, guide them through the application process, and support them when they’re abroad.
