Overview
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) (B160) at the University of Roehampton is designed to prepare students to support people in leading healthier, more active lives through a deep understanding of movement, recovery, and rehabilitation. The programme enables students to develop the skills and experience required to make a meaningful difference in a variety of healthcare contexts.
In response to an evolving healthcare landscape, the course equips students with both professional and interpersonal competencies needed to succeed across diverse settings. Students explore how physiotherapy supports individuals in managing pain, restoring function, and achieving personal goals.
The programme provides a strong foundation in applying scientific knowledge and therapeutic techniques to real-world challenges, including long-term health conditions and rehabilitation, health promotion and physical activity, supporting ageing populations, and injury prevention and performance enhancement.
Students also develop key professional capabilities such as effective communication, leadership, and informed decision-making. This learning is underpinned by an interprofessional approach, enabling students to work confidently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
As students progress, they build confidence in assessing, analysing, and treating a wide range of conditions, delivering person-centred care. Throughout the programme, they gain practical experience that reflects real-world scenarios, preparing them for a dynamic and impactful career in physiotherapy.
